1 Act = 3 Impacts

After being in Fort Worth, Texas and seeing everything amazing Scentsy does, my husband and I did some brain storming. For those of you that do not know the Fall Catalog will be out shortly. This catalog season's charitable cause is Sasha the Bear, a Scentsy buddy. Scentsy Family Foundation will be donating 100% of all net proceeds to the Ronald McDonald House Charity from the sales of Sasha.

I wanted to take this a step further. Thus 1 Act = 3 Impacts was born. the 1 Act of buying Sasha through me now through December 1st, will have 3 impacts.
1) 100% of net proceeds will be donated from Scentsy to the Ronald McDonald house Charity.
2) 100% of my commissions from the sale of Sasha (now - December 1st) will be donated January 10th to the Ronald McDonald House in Knoxville, TN.
3) I would like to have donated from my customers (through your purchases) 1,000 buddies for my family and I to take to local hospitals on Christmas Eve.
Please note if I can sell 1,000 buddies I will donate aprox $7,500!! All commissions from ALL Sasha buddies sold will be donated, even if you do not donate the actual buddy. Cost of Sasha is $30 plus your states sales tax if you donate Sasha to me to deliver to a hospital. Want Sahsa delivered to you? Just pay an additional $5 shipping. If you decide to purchase Sahsa please contact me to set it up and include whether you would like to donate or have delivered to you. 1,000 buddies will change a lot of lives..... for $30 you are helping to touch lives beyond what that money could do for you. Please consider skipping the morning latte, packing a lunch, etc.

My kids came to me (my oldest anyways) carrying his piggy bank telling me he wanted to buy a buddy bear to give to a sick child. He is five and made me cry! If you donate your Sasha, please let me know what name you would like to put on the card. All buddies will have a tag of LOVE from their donator and pictures will be taken and posted on my facebook page. I can hit this goal of 1,000 with each of your help. Please if you find this a worthy cause contact me to purchase Sasha today. Don't wait if you can, we all get so involved in life and forget.

You can send me an email at giftswithjessica@gmail.com to order Sasha to be donated OR you can purchase Sasha on my site to have him shipped to you or someone you choose. Do you know someone that would love to purchase Sasha? Please have them contact me. Thank you for consideration of this worthy cause; I hope to hear from you soon. Together 1 Act = LOTS of IMPACTS!

Making Extra Money For Your Family

Have you ever balanced your check book and wished there was a few extra $100's in there? I mean it could mean a bill got paid down, a fun activity for the family, a better Christmas or Birthday, etc. After Faith was born I realized giving more to my kids just got harder and yet even more important to me. Growing up I never went on a family vacation. My vacations started in High School when I was in Key Club. I remember going to Atlanta, Chicago, Albuquerque, and a couple other places.

I do not blame my grandparents, one is disabled the other worked to provide for all of us, but looking back I wish I had those memories. My husband on the other hand went lots of places with his mom and talk about with fond memories. I want to make sure my children experience those same memories.

A milestone in my life

On Friday June 3, 2011 I accomplished something I never thought I would. My ten year High School Reunion is this year, but one I did not feel I should join in. In March 2001 I dropped out of High School. We were six weeks from graduating and I would have been in the top 10% of my class. I had a full ride to NAU and a bright future ahead of me.

I was dating someone and decided to move in with him. When I did that I moved over thirty minutes from school and it became to much of a 'burden' to finish. I let my grandparents down, as I lived with them. I would have (at that time) been only the second in our family to graduate and only the first to go to college. I still remember the disappointment on my grandmothers face up until the day she passed in 2003.

After my grandmother died my husband and I divorced. I bounced from job to job, I tired to get my GED but life always got in the way. This past year I had the opportunity to go back to High School. This is not one of those through the mail things. I mean I went BACK to High School! I attended classes, relying on my mother-in-law and husband to watch the kids after work so I could go to school. Then when my pregnancy took a severe downward spiral, I was allowed to do class work at home and check in at school.

I finished my 2.5 credits in March right after Faith was born. On June 3,2011 I joined GED graduates and 8 other Adult High School Graduates at Commencement. I walked proudly across the stage as my husband, mother-in-law, and daughter cheered from the audience (Faith cheered I swear, it does not matter that she is only 2 months). I was called back to the stage not once but TWICE to be honored as Valedictorian and presented with a scholarship from the local newspaper.

Ten years after the worst mistake of my life, all is in the process of being made right. I will be attending Roane State this fall to obtain a bachelors in Social Service. It may have taken 10 years but I fixed it. I truly pray my grandmother is looking down on me proud! Please remember it's not the mistakes you make it's HOW you FIX them that truly count!

Spring Time at My House

The next month is brimming with stuff on our agenda. Headstart just let out yesterday for Aaron and we have to start the transition to Kindergarten. (I can not believe he is starting 'real' school!) His graduation was so adorable though I have to admit I have some problems with all these false milestones, I mean what happened to celebrating only the big ones in a BIG way.
Speaking of a BIG one. I will be graduating from a state accredited High School on June 3rd! Yep after ten years of dropping out (this is my years ten year anniversary) I am going to walk across the stage and accept my diploma. Although I think I will leave the graduation announcements to me graduating College, I am beyond excited. Oh yes you heard that right, I will be starting college in August!

Aaron will be adopted by my husband in June as well. That is right we get to go in front of a judge and make what we already feel in our hearts, legal! I can guarantee I will purchasing photo gifts for mom and everyone  this year. I have already hired the photographer that did our wedding, to take family photos! Look for pictures in June.
T-Ball ends in June and then we have Caleb turning two in July. How can it be that my babies keep growing! I don't like it at all. I don't know what kind of party we will throw this year for him. It seems he is into whatever Aaron is into at the time. Caleb LOVES his brother. I love Shutterfly's birthday invitations though; I have caught myself looking through them several times.

I know things are busy right now and I have not been around. I think though that Spring time is so full for most families. Please remember to cherish every moment and capture those memories~ I KNOW I WILL! Happy Spring!

Have a blog? Sign up for a chance at 50 free cards from Shutterfly.

The opinions expressed in this post are mine and mine alone. I received cards from Shutterfly for this post. Topic and events are mine and real.  Please see my disclosure policy for details about reviews and giveaways!

Fundraiser with Couponing to Disney

April 25 – 27 the Southern United States were hit with storms of an we have not seen in a long time. Multitudes of Tornado’s touched down in several Southern states. Alabama was hit extremely hard as day after day Tornado’s ripped through cities. Lives were tore apart and changed forever. Kristin here at Couponing to Disney has seen firsthand in her town what these storms did. She put a call out to all her readers to participate in an Online Donation Drive.

Jessica is a stay at home mom, author of It’s All About the Savings, and Independent Scentsy Consultant. Partnering with Couponing to Disney she has started an online fundraiser for the storm victims. Any Scentsy products bought through the Couponing to Disney party will benefit the storm victims. Jessica has offered to host this party on her Scentsy website from April 29 to May 11. 100% of all commission’s earned from the Couponing to Disney party, Jessica will donate to the Disaster Relief Fund being run by the First Baptist Church of Moody.

  • The wax (which costs $5 per bar) lasts up to 80 hours, where a jar candle typically lasts 40-50 hours!
  • You can change between scents as often as you like, by either pouring the melted wax back into the original container or popping it out once it has cooled.
  • It's made of food grade wax.  This is the safest wax out there. It’s the same wax that is on apples.
  • There is no flame and the wax temperature is just over body temperature.  At its maximum temp, the wax will not burn your children or your pets.  The wax is heated with a 25 watt bulb which melts it slowly, maximizing its fragrance time.
  • Did you know there are 23,600 fires, 165 deaths and $500 million dollars in property loss from candle/flame accidents?
  • There will be no black soot on your wall, your TV, your toilet, etc...  No more “ghosting”! (“Ghosting” is when black soot outlines items such as pictures hanging on walls, etc…)
Scentsy makes wonderful gifts as well as purchases for yourself, and you can help support the storm victims. You can email Jessica for more information at giftswithjessica@gmail.com.
