After being in Fort Worth, Texas and seeing everything amazing Scentsy does, my husband and I did some brain storming. For those of you that do not know the Fall Catalog will be out shortly. This catalog season's charitable cause is Sasha the Bear, a Scentsy buddy. Scentsy Family Foundation will be donating 100% of all net proceeds to the Ronald McDonald House Charity from the sales of Sasha.

I wanted to take this a step further. Thus 1 Act = 3 Impacts was born. the 1 Act of buying Sasha through me now through December 1st, will have 3 impacts.

1) 100% of net proceeds will be donated from Scentsy to the Ronald McDonald house Charity.
2) 100% of my commissions from the sale of Sasha (now - December 1st) will be donated January 10th to the Ronald McDonald House in Knoxville, TN.
3) I would like to have donated from my customers (through your purchases) 1,000 buddies for my family and I to take to local hospitals on Christmas Eve.

Please note if I can sell 1,000 buddies I will donate aprox $7,500!! All commissions from ALL Sasha buddies sold will be donated, even if you do not donate the actual buddy. Have you ever balanced your check book and wished there was a few extra $100's in there? I mean it could mean a bill got paid down, a fun activity for the family, a better Christmas or Birthday, etc. After Faith was born I realized giving more to my kids just got harder and yet even more important to me. Growing up I never went on a family vacation. My vacations started in High School when I was in Key Club. I remember going to Atlanta, Chicago, Albuquerque, and a couple other places.

I do not blame my grandparents, one is disabled the other worked to provide for all of us, but looking back I wish I had those memories. My husband on the other hand went lots of places with his mom and talk about with fond memories. I want to make sure my children experience those same memories.

So back to what I was saying, after Faith was born I started looking at how I could go back to work. I knew I was starting college in August, have two kids that would need daycare, and one that would need daycare till school starts back in August. Now factor in low wages because of the economy (the only places hiring are doing so at around minimum wage), the cost of gas, and the cost of daycare.... WHAT would I be working for.... TO WORK!

I was surfing around Facebook one day and got to talking to a wonderful lady about Scentsy! I have loved Scentsy since I won a warmer on a blog a year ago. Scentsy is wickless candles, WARMED not BURNED! There is no fire danger and they are safe for pets and kids.

A milestone in my life

On Friday June 3, 2011 I accomplished something I never thought I would. My ten year High School Reunion is this year, but one I did not feel I should join in. In March 2001 I dropped out of High School. We were six weeks from graduating and I would have been in the top 10% of my class. I had a full ride to NAU and a bright future ahead of me.

I was dating someone and decided to move in with him. When I did that I moved over thirty minutes from school and it became to much of a 'burden' to finish. I let my grandparents down, as I lived with them. I would have (at that time) been only the second in our family to graduate and only the first to go to college. I still remember the disappointment on my grandmothers face up until the day she passed in 2003.

After my grandmother died my husband and I divorced. I bounced from job to job, I tired to get my GED but life always got in the way. This past year I had the opportunity to go back to High School. This is not one of those through the mail things. I mean I went BACK to High School! I attended classes, relying on my mother-in-law and husband to watch the kids after work so I could go to school. Then when my pregnancy took a severe downward spiral, I was allowed to do class work at home and check in at school.

I finished my 2.5 credits in March right after Faith was born. On June 3,2011 I joined GED graduates and 8 other Adult High School Graduates at Commencement. I walked proudly across the stage as my husband, mother-in-law, and daughter cheered from the audience (Faith cheered I swear, it does not matter that she is only 2 months). I was called back to the stage not once but TWICE to be honored as Valedictorian and presented with a scholarship from the local newspaper.

Ten years after the worst mistake of my life, all is in the process of being made right. I will be attending Roane State this fall to obtain a bachelors in Social Service. It may have taken 10 years but I fixed it. I truly pray my grandmother is looking down on me proud! Please remember it's not the mistakes you make it's HOW you FIX them that truly count!

Spring Time at My House

The next month is brimming with stuff on our agenda. Headstart just let out yesterday for Aaron and we have to start the transition to Kindergarten. (I can not believe he is starting 'real' school!) His graduation was so adorable though I have to admit I have some problems with all these false milestones, I mean what happened to celebrating only the big ones in a BIG way.

Speaking of a BIG one. I will be graduating from a state accredited High School on June 3rd! Yep after ten years of dropping out (this is my years ten year anniversary) I am going to walk across the stage and accept my diploma. Although I think I will leave the graduation announcements to me graduating College, I am beyond excited. Oh yes you heard that right, I will be starting college in August!

Aaron will be adopted by my husband in June as well. That is right we get to go in front of a judge and make what we already feel in our hearts, legal! I can guarantee I will purchasing photo gifts for mom and everyone this year. I have already hired the photographer that did our wedding, to take family photos! Look for pictures in June.

T-Ball ends in June and then we have Caleb turning two in July. How can it be that my babies keep growing! I don't like it at all. I don't know what kind of party we will throw this year for him. It seems he is into whatever Aaron is into at the time. Caleb LOVES his brother. I love Shutterfly's birthday invitations though; I have caught myself looking through them several times.

I know things are busy right now and I have not been around. I think though that Spring time is so full for most families. Please remember to cherish every moment and capture those memories~ I KNOW I WILL! Happy Spring!

Children's Claritin Review

Both my boys have allergies so I was excited when Bzz Agent invited me to be a part of there Children's Claritin campaign.

I received both the dye free grape liquid and the grape chewable tablets to try with my two year old son, and my five year old son. My children hate medicine and refuse to take it. I decided to try the chewable tablets first. That first night there was no arguing, my five year old even told me he liked it! Test one was a pass ~ My kids ate it. Over the next five days we spent more and more time outside. The kids went from sneezing and coughing all night to sleeping peacefully. My two year old stayed two nights at his grandfathers house and there was no allergy reaction like there usually is. Test two was a complete pass. My only complaint is starting when school ends, we are cutting all artificial dyes from the boys diet. I really hope Claritin will consider making a dye free chewable in the near future.

Today we started the dye free liquid. My five year old drank it and then begged me not to make him drink it again. He hated it and I think it may be a little strong as his eyes watered. My two year old took a drink of it willingly and then proceeded to spit it out. When I tried to get him to drink more he refused rather loudly.

Sorry I disappeared and have been MIA. I have had a lot of issues in this pregnancy and they are being handled by a new dr now. Also Ken lost his job in December and has just now found a new one. Life has been so hectic but I will be around more now!

I want to make the most of my time online and I want you to as well! I have been saving Amazon gift cards for Christmas or birthdays and it really helps stretch our budget. There are so many FREE programs online. While none will make you rich, when you use the programs they add up to several HUNDRED dollars a year! I have decided to start featuring one site a day! A lot of these sites you have read about already on this blog but I will break it down to 'why to sign up' and how to use it! So here we go:

Reward Port is a free email reading site. What happens is you sign up and they begin to send emails each day. I receive anywhere from 1 - 8 emails a day. I open these emails and click on the link. I allow the page to load and then I close out of the page and delete the email. Each link I open awards me 1-5 points. When I receive 4500 points I can cash out for a $10 Amazon gift card! This is as far as I participate with this site! I spend anywhere from 30 seconds to 4 minutes on Reward Port a day. They do have a referral program and I would love to help you sign up. Crockpot Unstuffed Cabbage

Ingredients

1 lb ground beef or turkey (or half and half) 1 med head of cabbage, chopped 1/2 C long grain rice 1 large onion, chopped 1 bell pepper, chopped 1 C water 1 can petite cut diced tomatoes 1 can tomato soup garlic to taste paprika to taste salt and pepper to taste

Directions

In a large crockpot on low heat, combine all ingredients. Cook 6-8 hours!

TIP~ I use brown rice and cook it before putting into the crock pot. This step can be done an hr before serving!
